With great craftsmanship and an eye for opportunities, old furniture, doors, mouldings and fittings were given new life.Carefully sanded, painted and transformed, they have not only been preserved – they have been refined. A charming example is the front of the bar, which was once an old door and today forms a natural gathering point in the home.The house's soul also draws inspiration from nature and the maritime. Here solid craftsmanship, period details and generous social areas meet in a pleasant environment where every room tells its own story. Already in the welcoming hall, the tone of the home is set. The rustic wooden floor, the patterned wallpaper and the boarded ceiling create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautiful wooden pillars connecting the hall and living room are originals from a demolition house and have been complemented with carefully newly made pillars, created after original models by a local carpenter in Malmköping. Together they contribute to the home's genuine and timeless expression. Adjacent to the hall is the spacious bathroom in period-typical 1970s style with fully tiled walls, tiled floor with pleasant underfloor heating and windows providing natural light. Here there is a shower corner, wc, mirror as well as a stylish washstand unit with double basins. As an extra bonus, there is also a private sauna – perfect for relaxing moments all year round. From the hall you also reach the practical laundry room with good work surfaces and plenty of storage. Here there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, cleaning cupboard and laundry sink as well as wet room matting on both floor and walls, creating an easy-care and functional environment. The rustic kitchen offers a warm and inviting feel with pine doors, dark worktops and a beautiful custom-made copper stove hood that becomes the room's natural focal point. The period-typical cork and plastic floor from the 1970s reinforces the house's authentic character. By the window there is a generous dining area where family and friends can gather. The large window sections let in abundant daylight and create a light and airy atmosphere. Wooden floors, visible ceiling beams and a decorative open fireplace give the room both character and warmth. The specially ordered black cast-iron hearth plate, made by Eskilstunagjuteri in 1973, is adorned with the Latin expressions Verus amicus est rara avis (A true friend is a rare bird), Errare humanum est, ignoscere divinum (To err is human, to forgive divine) and Amor vincit omnia (Love conquers all) – unique details that further reinforce the home's personality. Another charming detail is the front of the bar, which consists of an old door from a demolition house. The original paint has been carefully removed to bring out the wood's natural grain and create a beautiful focal point. As a surface behind the bar there is an accent wall of brown brick. From the living room a staircase leads up to the upper floor and another towards the basement's workshop space. Upper floor The upper floor offers a furnishable hall connecting the rooms of the floor. Here there are several pleasant bedrooms with charming plank floors, papered walls and plenty of space for both rest and storage. One of the bedrooms also has its own walk-in wardrobe, while a further spacious wardrobe centrally on the floor provides excellent storage opportunities. The bathroom on the upper floor also carries a unique history. The beautiful red-glazed ceramics were handmade by the house's owner and fired in the potter Lars Bergsten's kiln in 1973 – an artistic detail that gives the room a very special character. From there you find the house's large upper hall/living room/bedroom with wooden floor and boarded ceiling. In the house's basement there is also the spacious workshop, originally planned as a garage. Here there is plenty of space for hobby activities, storage or your own projects. The workshop also contains a storage space as well as a hydrophore and pump for the drilled well. This is a home that offers far more than just square metres.
