The old school transformed into a paradise with space and charm Description Ingelstorp is a church village and small settlement just over a Swedish mile east of Ystad. Its fantastic location and cosy village environment make Ingelstorp a wonderful part of Österlen. The open landscapes around the village are wonderful with their varying colours depending on the season. Ingelstorp is today known, among other things, for the popular bakery and café Olof Viktors. Both villagers and tourists make pilgrimages here. The village has a long history. As early as the 12th century, a Romanesque church was built, which was the village church until the 19th century. It was then considered too small, and a larger church was built around the old one. Today there are some businesses in the village, including a second-hand bookshop, the pasta factory, a gallery and more. Welcome to Österlenvägen 306. The old school from the 19th century has been transformed into a magical home where no surfaces in the house have been left to chance. From the street, the architect-designed iron gates lead you into a courtyard. The beautiful house is almost symmetrical, and the solid hand-made brick, which was actually made in the village, gives the house extra character. The veranda takes you into an entrance and hallway with slate flooring and double doors. To the left there is a storage section, and to the right the kitchen is reached. The kitchen has a smart walnut floor and a kitchen fitment with oak doors, and spotlights in the ceiling provide the room with light. In the floor there is a glass hatch leading down to a completely unique wine cellar with cosy lighting. The bathroom has a section for laundry and a section for the bathroom, tiled floor, tiles on the walls and a shower. The ground floor has three rooms in a row, where the two school rooms are today used as living rooms. The dining room, with parquet flooring, mirrored doors, generous ceiling height and stucco work, makes you truly marvel. A room made for enjoying long dinners in the company of good friends – why not light a fire and let the crackle from the stove create extra atmosphere during the meals. From the dining room you continue to the magnificent library, also with parquet flooring. Here there is almost a castle-like feeling, the light through the beautiful mullioned windows from three directions is magical. The French open fireplace adorns like a piece of furniture. In the opposite part from the library there is the space that once was the teacher's residence. Here there are three smaller rooms that can also be reached from the kitchen. The separate entrance from the village street makes the rooms perfect for anyone who wants to run their own business, such as a shop or office – or why not create a rental section? Parking is right outside the door. From the teacher's residence there are also two double doors leading out to the magnificent garden. The upper floor, reached via a wooden staircase from the hallway, was once the woodwork and gymnastics hall. It now consists of one large room with an open plan and plank flooring. The chimneys divide the room into three sections. The bedroom, which has dormer windows and windows facing three directions, has an almost magical light during the day. In the evening, it is instead a newly lit fire in the bedroom's stove that can create the magic. The middle section is used as a TV and living room, and one part is used as an office section – spaces that can easily be rearranged for those who want more rooms. The generous ceiling height with beams makes the upper floor something extra. Water and sewage are prepared for those who want an extra bathroom. In the garden there is a newly built patio with a water mirror. It is reached through double doors in the teacher's residence section and the self-designed metal staircase in rust-red corten steel. Next to the patio there is also a cosy greenhouse/orangery of 30 sqm for many, long and lovely summer evenings. Here there are both grapes and peaches. Garden and façade lighting give the garden an extra dimension.
