Unique station house with beautiful details The unique station house in Norrvidinge has been renovated into a charming family home with beautiful period details and a wonderful sense of space. Description The beautiful station house in Norrvidinge, anno 1912, is an excellent example of National Romantic architecture. It was designed by the chief architect of the State Railways, Folke Zetterwall, at a time when the State Railways had good finances and were associated with the safe and stable, which is reflected in the architecture. The robust and voluminous building in classic red-brown brick with a steep roof resembles a medieval castle and is truly striking with its high arched window sections on the entrance floor and charming details from the past when the station house was in use. Today it has been renovated and furnished into a cosy family home with plenty of space and soul. In the rustic waiting room with brick walls and period details such as post boxes and a ticket window, we today find the living room, which truly functions as the heart of the house. In the adjoining dining room, both family dinners and festive meals are served, and in the old goods room we now find a well-planned new kitchen in old style that harmonises perfectly with the rest of the house, but with all the conveniences a modern family wants. One floor up, in the station master's former residence, we find the sleeping quarters, which today offer two large bedrooms with lovely light from the large window sections, a spacious extra room, a work corner and a renovated bathroom with fittings in older style with tiles from Byggfabriken and beautiful porcelain from Burlington. For those in need of additional space, there is a spacious attic of approx. 50 square metres which has already been fitted with windows and where more bedrooms can easily be created. Both on the entrance floor and the second floor there are stoves that provide good warmth during the winter months. The large garden of a full 2715 square metres offers plenty of space for those interested in cultivation. In addition, there are berry bushes and a kitchen garden and truly large areas to run around on. In 2021, a delightful orangery was built from old mullioned windows, and this becomes a cosy outdoor space that extends the season considerably. Adjacent to the kitchen entrance there is also a new wooden deck in a sunny south-west position. In addition to good auxiliary spaces in the basement, where you will find among other things a laundry room and boiler room, there is a garage with an adjoining storage/workshop section that is ideal for the self-employed or the motor enthusiast. On the opposite side from the entrance, there is a door section with an exit to the garden, which was previously the entrance for train passengers. In what was previously the goods room, there is now instead a newly renovated kitchen from 2019 with fittings in period style with mirrored fronts in grey. Older built-in fittings have also been preserved and painted in the same shade. The floor is concrete treated with hard wax oil, and the walls feature painted wooden panelling with the upper half in painted plaster. In the middle of the room stands a practical kitchen island offering storage, work surface and space for a breakfast nook. The appliances are stainless steel and consist of a Bertazzoni oven/hob, a freestanding microwave, a Bosch fridge/freezer, a charcoal filter extractor hood and an integrated Bosch dishwasher. In addition, there is a practical extra stainless steel sink and period electrical sockets from Byggfabriken that complete the whole. Entered from the kitchen is the generous dining room, which with its light colours and fine natural light is a perfect place for both parties and everyday dinners. Here there is a classic plank floor and the walls are painted white. A charming detail is the old ticket window into the waiting room - now the living room - a memory of bygone times. The staircase by the entrance leads up to the upper floor, where the station master previously had his private residence. The floor is painted wood and the walls are painted in a light shade. The visible roof beams and posts become beautiful details in the room, and a charming stove raises the cosiness factor even further. Built-in wardrobes offering good storage possibilities. The largest bedroom up here functions today as a TV room, but it would also work well as a master bedroom. Here there is painted wood flooring and the walls are painted in a calming shade. Double windows provide pleasant light. There is currently a door between this room and the next bedroom. The second bedroom is also of good size and has plenty of space for a double bed. The bathroom on this floor was renovated in 2018 in a well-considered classic style to suit the house while still offering modern comfort in the form of electric underfloor heating. The tiles are from Byggfabriken and the fittings consist of a WC from Burlington, a washbasin from Burlington and a bathroom cabinet from Byggfabriken. From the extra room on this floor there is also a hatch up to the attic, which has been fitted with windows and could advantageously be converted into additional living space.
