In a fine location, equally close to the dining hall, the café and the sea as to the turquoise-glittering limestone quarry, lies this easy-to-maintain natural plot, where you have the opportunity to build your dream home in a peaceful setting and beautiful landscape. Bungenäs' distinctive character is shaped by the former limestone quarrying, and new construction must be adapted to the environment and surroundings. There are clear regulations regarding material choices, placements and what type of houses may be built, all to preserve the unique environment and architectural character of the barren landscape on Bungenäs. Municipal water and sewage are available in the surrounding area but have not been extended to the plot boundary. Bungenäs is a 165-hectare peninsula that long belonged to the military; until a few years ago it was not possible to visit the area. The entire area is both car-free and a nature reserve, which contributes to the harmonious feeling where beautiful architecture meets Gotland's nature, with grazing lambs right on your doorstep. On the site there is a restaurant and a hotel, and concerts are occasionally held in the limestone barn. It is popular to swim both from the bathing jetties and on the nearby beaches. When the wind is right, the conditions for surfing are among the best in Sweden. In the community of Fårösund, a few kilometres away, you will find, among other things, an Ica store, a petrol station, a small-boat marina, a sports facility, a trampoline park, jogging trails and, of course, the ferry to Fårö.
