Långviks gård, unique and welcoming, with roots dating back to 1833

Långviksgård, a beautiful building surrounded by a wonderful garden with a large lawn, a house with modern practical solutions and an upgraded energy system for the best economy and sustainability. A building that radiates both tradition and innovation.

This is the old farm in Långvik on Ingarö, built in the 19th century in the Tessin style. The building has been thoroughly renovated several times, most recently in 2020, and the garden has in recent years undergone a comprehensive renewal.

The home can work for many different family situations. As now, when two seniors live here – and the grandchildren come to visit. But just as well for a family with children, with a playroom, playhouse and a football pitch in the garden.

Here you live in the middle of nature, with the right to a boat berth and with all the possibilities of the archipelago within reach. At the same time there is a direct bus connection to Slussen, with the bus stop just 300 metres from the corner.

From the white gate at the entrance on Långviksvägen, beautiful slate slabs lead you along the house to the two entrances and the patio. Through the first entrance you enter a spacious hall that leads to the large, well-equipped working kitchen with daylight from three directions and a wood-burning stove, which you can light to spread lovely warmth and atmosphere.

The oak kitchen tables are specially made for this kitchen and allow meals with sixteen seated guests. The tables are included in the sale. A separate pantry with a freezer makes cooking for large gatherings easier.

In the middle of the house is the living room with a beautiful and well-functioning tiled stove.

In the western part of the house there is a large room with an open fireplace and windows facing three directions, which is currently used as a study and library. It can alternatively be used as a bedroom.

On the entrance floor there is a guest toilet and one of the house's two bathrooms, fully tiled and equipped with a bathtub and double showers.

The upper floor contains a bedroom in the west, two walk-in wardrobes, a small storage room and a sitting room. A master bedroom in the east with beautiful beams and an open fireplace becomes your private retreat, with a newly built bathroom with laundry care directly adjacent. In addition, the upper hall can be used as an extra study.

A total of four fireplaces – a wood stove, a tiled stove and two open fireplaces – give the home its cosy atmosphere, while ground-source heating and solar panels with a 16 kWh battery guarantee the lowest possible electricity bill.

The garden has been carefully planned together with a gardener to live and bloom throughout the growing season. The hexagonal greenhouse becomes the devoted grower's sanctuary, equally perfect for raising seedlings as for sitting and enjoying the greenery even on cooler days.

Spring begins early with snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils breaking through the surface before the magnolias' spectacular flowering has even begun, and it does not end until well into autumn when dahlias and gladioli still glow in the beds.

In the far end of the large lawn, where the pergola is strategically placed to catch the late afternoon and early evening sun – an outdoor chessboard awaits those seeking both relaxation and mental exercise.

The large lawn is surrounded by well-thought-out plantings and framed by beds where nepeta has become a signature plant, attracting bees and butterflies. The slopes down to the lawn are filled with ground-covering evergreens as a calm backdrop, along with salvia, broom and hydrangeas for long-lasting flowering. The white elderflower blooms generously and creates plenty of good juice.

Against the house wall, where the sun hits, the grapevine thrives and yields good harvests. In front of the kitchen window, roses cover the entire wall. Bleeding hearts bloom early and the petunias ensure the colour display lasts all summer. For those dreaming of home-grown vegetables and berries, there is the kitchen garden where lettuce, beetroot, Jerusalem artichokes, pumpkin, fennel, chilli and peppers are grown side by side. Children can be let loose among wild strawberries, strawberries, raspberries and currants. Growing boxes on the sunny south side of the garage hold potatoes and rhubarb.

For the family with children, there is a playhouse in its own corner of the garden, a football pitch in the middle of the lawn and a trampoline at the edge of the woods.

For practical everyday life, there are two electric car chargers and a garage building with running water and a sink for seed germination and replanting. Here you will also find an extra fridge and freezer.

A heated storage room provides ample space to stow away garden furniture and everything you do not need at the moment. There is also space to store wine. An air-source heat pump is installed in both the garage and the storage room.

Långviks gård was built in 1833 in a Tessin-inspired architectural style. In 1888, Oppastugan was added, an extension towards the west. At the turn of the century, the house was given its characteristic dormer windows. The building was renovated from the ground up in 1975, and a new renovation took place in 2020.

The fact that the building is Q-marked testifies to its cultural and historical value – this is a cultural gem that current and previous owners have cared for with respect for the building's history and cultural tradition. And at the same time made the home modern, practical and sustainable.
