In autumn the forest smells of mushrooms and earth, and in summer nature explodes in greenery and colour. Bring something tasty in the picnic basket, walk out towards Smörsund and climb one of all the beautiful hills. Here you can simply sit down, enjoy and gaze out over the sea – a striking and fantastic view! An incredibly beautiful place to walk is the Rosenlund nature reserve. Or why not take one of the hiking trails out on Koön. The project is called PromeMare, walking by the sea. Many of the previously inaccessible and beautiful natural areas that Koön has to offer have been made accessible. Bring breakfast or a snack and sit on the large sun terrace with a view over Pater Noster. Good connections via Ytterby, onwards by commuter train or bus to Gothenburg (approx. 1 hour). But life in Marstrand is also the little turn-of-the-century town, with charming cobblestone alleys, white wooden fences and punch verandas behind bowing plum trees. It may well be Sweden's foremost summer town, but it lives all year round, from the restaurant and entertainment life of July evenings to the beautiful autumn days' walks along the sea and winter's cultural events and small-town life.
