About this home
On a slope by the Alsterälven river lies Gunnerud, where Gustaf Fröding spent his childhood summers. Here the seeds were sown for several of the poems he would write as an adult. He found his motifs in the estate, the river and the forests. Here there are oaks, ashes and lindens, several of which are close to 300 years old. The manor house has been very tastefully renovated since 2007. The old industrial estate has been refurbished with great care and a feeling for history. The total land area is approximately 138 hectares plus 115 hectares of leased land. Leases and rental of residences provide good income. The estate is located 8 km from Stora Torget in Karlstad and adjoins the area around the university.
