London-based Go-Ahead Group acquires Trossö Buss, a family-owned company with approximately 30 buses in traffic. Through the deal, the experience and focus on continuously developing the service with the customer in mind are strengthened, a key factor in Trossö Buss's success.
"We are enormously pleased to welcome our new colleagues at Trossö Buss to Go-Ahead Sweden and Go-Ahead Group. With their experience and focus on service, they are a valuable addition to our existing operations. Together, we will offer our customers an even better service and travel experience on board our vehicles", says Martin Jacobson, CEO of Go-Ahead Sweden.
Svensk FöretagsFörmedling was given the assignment of guiding Trossö Buss through the sales process and finding a suitable buyer. The owners, Magnus and Elisabeth Petersson, had clear wishes for a buyer who, with capacity and ambition, could run and develop the existing business one step further. After a thorough evaluation of a larger number of potential buyers, the choice fell on the international group Go-Ahead, which is already established in Sweden with approximately 850 employees and 600 vehicles.
"We have built up and run Trossö Buss for 19 years and developed it into what it is today. Now it is time to pass the baton to Go-Ahead Sweden, which we are convinced will run Trossö Buss with the same commitment and quality on to the next level", say Magnus and Elisabeth Petersson, who will remain in the business for a while to ensure a seamless transition.
The former owners also highlight the importance of a knowledgeable advisor in the process: "We are grateful to Peter Granborn as advisor from Svensk FöretagsFörmedling. His expertise in large corporate deals has helped us navigate the specific requirements that apply when a large buyer acquires a family business."
"Having a knowledgeable transaction advisor as part of the process has been both a reassurance and a prerequisite in a deal like this. Peter and his team have been engaged, available and guiding throughout the entire process on the questions that arose, including from us as buyers", says Martin Jacobson, CEO of Go-Ahead Sweden.
