A falu-red Skåne farmstead with a shingle roof, high grey stone foundation, beautiful Simrishamn doors and tarred barn doors - a living cultural treasure situated in the middle of a unique environment. The rural, simple manor style is harmonious and gives a spiritual calm; here one truly feels that time can stand still. The farm, located in Brösarp on Österlen, dates from the beginning of the 19th century. Everything has been meticulously and carefully restored, and the harmonious room layout is essentially original. In the middle of the wing is the fine entrance, where a beautiful pair of Simrishamn doors welcomes you into a hall with a brick floor from Marsvinsholm Castle. On either side of the hall are the drawing room and dining room. The chest room and bridal chamber in the eastern part of the wing are today two charming bedrooms, and at the opposite end of the wing the former maids' room and pantry have been carefully planned as an inviting country kitchen and a bathroom for modern comfort. The feeling of a classic Skåne longhouse is reinforced when, from the dining room, you can look through the entire wing all the way down to the eastern gable rooms. All rooms on the entrance floor have soap-treated wooden floors, and four of the rooms also retain their original plank floors, beautifully worn by time gone by. The lime-plastered interior walls are painted in restrained, soothing colours, as are all the preserved interior doors, which have a uniform grey-green tone. The white ceilings are throughout clad in planks with the roof beams visible, and they are predominantly painted with distemper paint. Several fireplaces as befits - a tiled stove, a sett stove and a cast-iron stove. The attic floor, fitted out later but in the same period style, contains bedrooms, a bathroom, a library and plenty of storage. All the wooden floors are soap-treated. The farm has been managed by the current owner according to old tried-and-tested methods and with traditional materials, which have in fact kept the farm alive since the beginning of the 19th century. These methods and the choice of materials such as distemper paint, lime mortar, linseed oil paint and soap also give a beautiful ageing. The three outbuildings, which contain the cottage (undantag), laundry room, premises, workshop, stable and barn, frame a delightful cobblestone yard. It is edged with boxwood, roses and hollyhocks, in the middle a stately guardian tree - a lime tree standing in a circle of boxwood. In the original cottage one feels the same historical flutter of wings. Today it is a very charming and atmospheric guest house of approx. 60 m². It also works well for letting; the current owner has many returning tenants. The premises, with an entrance facing the farm's driveway, offer great potential for anyone wishing to run a business. The delightful cottage garden is laid out as different rooms and is reached through a beautiful old cast-iron gate. Clipped boxwood hedges surround roses, herb beds and seasonal cultivation. Here are several stone-paved patios and arbours. A further abundance of roses, hollyhocks, fruit trees and flourishing flowerbeds together create a verdant paradise where the babbling brook running across the property is a fairytale feature. The stone wall borders the slope/pasture land where sheep graze today. In the slope there is also a wine cellar that is well appointed with space to sit down, with beautifully restored grey stone walls and floors.
