The guest toilet is located discreetly off the hallway and is executed with the same sense of quality and simple elegance as the rest of the home.

The kitchen is the natural centrepiece of the home and a piece of craftsmanship in its own right. Architect-designed and custom-built by Lappvattnets Snickerier, with ash cabinets that are lacquered on the outside and finely finished in bare wood on the inside. The massive oak kitchen island with a front of ash car-body panelling creates both warmth and character, while worktops in wood and stainless steel and a limestone splashback add a calm and timeless expression. All wooden surfaces have been treated with hard wax oil, which brings out the natural lustre of the materials. The kitchen is equipped with appliances from Miele, Siemens and KitchenAid, and above hovers a bespoke solution from Swedluxery with a ceiling-integrated extractor and canopy in toughened glass.

The social areas are characterised by generous natural light and an effortless sense of space. The fireplace serves as a natural gathering point during the colder months of the year, while the view over the water constantly draws the eye out towards the horizon. Here there is an unusual balance between the representative and the personal – a home that works just as well for larger dinners as for quiet evenings in everyday life.

In the living rooms and bedrooms, the original preserved herringbone parquet in oak continues through the home, creating continuity between the rooms. The study has a single-strip parquet floor that harmonises with the home's other material choices. The private parts of the home are characterised by the same calm atmosphere, where the light, the view and the natural materials work together to create a tranquil environment.

On the balcony, the city feels both close and distant. From here you follow the boats on Riddarfjärden, watch the changing seasons over the water and enjoy the light as the sun sets behind the rooftops of Kungsholmen.
