Description Right next to Bertilssons stuga, nestled between pines, rock and open clearings, lies a unique croft that carries centuries of history. It is a place where time feels present – where every log and every stone in the foundation tells of the life once lived here. The croft dates back to the early 19th century, a time when the Delsjö area was outland belonging to the farms of Örgryte parish. Here, crofter families lived close to nature, in self-sufficiency and hard work. The land was laboriously cultivated, the forest provided firewood and timber, and the lakes provided fish. Around the cottage lay a kitchen garden, small patches of fields and perhaps a meadow for hay. It was a simple life – but deeply rooted in the landscape. The building is typical of its era: a log frame, a low silhouette and a massive chimney that was once the heart of the home. The layout was simple but functional. Here the fire warmed both people and food, and here the family gathered through long winters while the wind swept through the forest outside. As Gothenburg grew during the 19th century, the area changed. The Delsjö lakes became an important part of the city's water supply, and the land was protected from development. It is precisely for this reason that the croft can remain standing today – preserved in a landscape that has escaped modern construction. During the 20th century, the area went from working land to recreation area. Where the plough once pulled, walkers and runners now pass. Where hay was once cut, picnic blankets are now spread out. Interior Through the charming enclosed porch, we are welcomed into a home where every detail carries character and soul. Already in the entrance, we are met by a warm, cosy atmosphere where rustic material choices, period details and harmonious colour tones interact in a natural way. Light flows through the house and reinforces the feeling of a home where history and aesthetics have been allowed to live on with a gentle hand. The entrance hall leads us further through the home and immediately sets the tone with its soft colours, beautiful floors and the pervasive feeling of rural elegance. There is plenty of room for hanging coats, while the house's genuine character becomes clear from the very first step. To the left, we find the stylish bathroom, tastefully designed with fully tiled surfaces, ceramic tile floors, a bathtub, a double washbasin and WC. A window lets in pleasant daylight and creates a bright and welcoming environment. From here, the laundry room is also reached, which is practically planned and equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and a ground-source heat pump. Further on, the kitchen opens up – a warm and personal room where classic materials and charming details create an inviting atmosphere.
