The IT consulting firm Data Ductus, headquartered in Skellefteå, is strengthening its operations in northern Sweden through the acquisition of Luleå-based BnearIT. The group thereby grows to just over 340 employees. Svensk FöretagsFörmedling was the responsible advisor in the transfer process.

The extensive industrial investments in northern Sweden have created great demand for solutions related to digitalization and automation in the region. To gain additional capacity to meet the major needs in the market, Data Ductus has acquired BnearIT, a consulting firm that is part of the Broviken group. BnearIT has approximately 40 employees and offers system development services, mainly in Norr- and Västerbotten.

– I am very pleased to welcome BnearIT to the Data Ductus group. It is a solid company with highly competent employees who will strengthen our team in a fantastic way. Through this acquisition, we are increasing our capacity in a region with strong growth and together creating a launching pad for larger assignments, says Data Ductus CEO Rickard Åström.

BnearIT's current owners are positive about the transfer, which enables continued strong growth in a broader geographic market.

– With Data Ductus behind us, we stand stronger and can offer our customers a broader range and become an even better and more important partner for our customers. We are already seeing clear synergies – one plus one becomes three, says BnearIT CEO Anders Hermanson.

Christer Hansson, responsible for acquisitions at Broviken, sees that demand for technology-driven development is high, not least with the investment in fossil-free industry in Norra Norrland. Through the acquisition of BnearIT, Data Ductus strengthens its position and delivery capacity in the region.

– BnearIT and Data Ductus have good and complementary strengths, and the joint customer offering to the market becomes even more powerful, says Christer Hansson.

Svensk FöretagsFörmedling (SFFAB) has local offices throughout Sweden and possesses well-established and valuable networks within business, authorities and banks. With over 40 years in the market, it is a secure and methodical partner on the path to successful business transactions. Peter Kieri, partner and transaction advisor in northern Sweden, was the responsible advisor in the transfer process. According to him, the entire process went well.

– We generated a number of relevant interested parties when we contacted the market. The choice fell on Broviken/Data Ductus as we found in them a buyer who will take good care of BnearIT and its staff, continue to develop the company in a positive way and realize the potential that exists in the company. The parties have had a good and open dialogue from the first meeting. The entire process went very well, largely thanks to our clear and well-documented business process, concludes Peter Kieri.

Both Data Ductus and BnearIT are growing continuously and are currently recruiting for all offices, both in Sweden and abroad. BnearIT will continue to operate under the same brand and management as before, and existing owners of BnearIT will remain as minority owners. A co-location of the group's operations in Luleå is planned, and a joint office will also be established in Umeå.
