About this home
A fairytale cottage from 1890 – a fully renovated idyll with a Tinyhouse in the heart of the Swedish countryside Description It is hard to believe that you are only a few minutes from Nitta. The road winds through the landscape before opening up onto a solitary paddock. In the midst of the greenery, surrounded by fences, birches and birdsong, stands a cottage from 1890 that in recent years has been transformed into something truly extraordinary. Here, the renovation was not done to modernise. It was done to refine. Every decision seems to have been made with the same question in mind: How do we preserve the cottage's soul while creating a home for our time? The result is a rare combination of historic charm, genuine craftsmanship and uncompromising quality. The first thing that catches the eye is the beautiful rolled metal roof crowning the building. When you step over the threshold, you are met by the heart of the house – the imposing chimney that divides and unites the home's social spaces. On one side, the wood stove spreads warmth and character in the kitchen. On the other, the living room awaits, where the large open fireplace with an insert stove creates an atmosphere that feels just as natural on a dark winter evening as on the cooler evenings of late summer. The kitchen is a piece of craftsmanship in itself. Stone worktops, bespoke solutions and carefully chosen materials interact with the house's original character. Everywhere you encounter details that cannot be bought ready-made – hand-carved elements, well-considered proportions and a sense that every centimetre has been given its time. To give the cottage today's comforts, the house was extended with a bathroom that blends naturally into the whole. Here too, the rustic and the modern meet in harmonious balance. On the upper floor awaits a cosy loft where the roof beams frame the sleeping area. There is room for a double bed, generous built-in storage along the sides and a snug reading nook just above the stairs. A room that feels almost lifted from a fairytale. But the story does not end there. On the property there is also a fully equipped Tinyhouse of approximately 30 square metres. A small home of its own with a kitchen, bathroom, living room with a wood-burning stove and a sleeping alcove. Perfect for guests, multi-generational living, creative work or as a unique rental opportunity. All around the property, nature spreads out in every direction. There are no neighbours to disturb the horizon. Only open views, the calm of the forest and the constant shifting of the seasons. Two newly built garden sheds complete the picture of the yard and provide practical storage without disturbing the overall feel. At the same time, it is reassuring to know that the beautiful is also well considered. The property has undergone an extensive full renovation including a new kitchen, new bathroom, new electrical system, a deep-drilled well, a three-chamber septic tank, a new facade with added insulation, an insulated and finished attic, a new water heater and new surfaces throughout the house. Some houses are beautiful. Others stir emotions. This is one of those houses. A place for you who have longed for something genuine.
