About this home
Blacksåsvallen – one of Hälsingland's genuine fäbodvallar. Here, at the foot of the mighty Blacksåsberget in the parish of Forsa, awaits a place where nature, cultural history and tranquillity interact in a way that is becoming increasingly rare. Here there is total silence in the surroundings, and only the rustle of the aspens, birdsong and the hum of bumblebees can be heard. An open, light plot with a lawn, beautifully framed by a traditional split-rail fence and with the forest as its closest neighbour. Here are three charming cottages that together create a perfect place for relaxation, family life and long summers in nature. The shieling cottages Storstugan has for many years been the natural gathering place at Blacksåsvallen and has previously welcomed both visitors and villagers as a summer café. Even today the house carries a warm and inviting atmosphere where it is easy to imagine coffee moments, stories and togetherness. According to a map from Lantmäteriet, the place has roots dating back to the year 1726. You step straight into the spacious main cottage, where soap-scrubbed wooden floors and older details give a genuine shieling feel mixed with a more modern, open and airy impression. The room has an open fireplace with a firewood insert that quickly warms the cool evenings. The cottage has been extended, and the extension of the room provides a section that can easily be divided off as its own bedroom. The kitchen was where refreshments were previously served and is simple but functional, equipped with kitchen counters, a gas fridge and a gas stove and oven. Beyond lies a preparation kitchen with a sink (no running water). Electricity has been drawn to the site, and there is the possibility of connecting a generator. Beyond the kitchen awaits a large and airy bedroom with a gas stove. On the farm there is also a guest cottage offering the same genuine character. In the main cottage you are met by a built-in bunk bed in an older style, wooden floors, a wooden ceiling and an open fireplace. There is also a simple little kitchen with the old wood stove still in place, but it has not been used for a long time, so the chimney has not been inspected in this cottage. Nearby is a practical woodshed. The oldest building, called the museum, is a piece of living cultural history. Much of its original character has been preserved here. In the main cottage there is an open fireplace, beautiful wooden floors and older wallpapers that testify to generations of care. There is also a chamber with preserved wallpapers and details. The building has been extended with an added storage annex. On the plot there is also a well-kept double outdoor toilet. This is not a modern leisure property – and that is exactly what makes it so special. Without electricity and sewage, you get an incredibly inexpensive leisure home. If you wish, however, you can find your own solutions for electricity, such as a generator and solar cells. Three buildings with soul, history and character, where the simple life and closeness to nature are at the centre. A place to care for, enjoy and let the next generation create their own memories in. The surroundings around Blacksås A warm welcome to Blacksåsvallen – a place to long to return to. This is a leisure home for you who are looking for something more than just a cottage – a place where calm takes its space, where history feels present and where every day is stored as beautiful memories. Here the forests spread out, the air is clear and the silence is broken only by birdsong, the rustle of the wind and nature's own sounds. From the cottage it is close to everything that makes leisure life so appreciated. Hike up Blacksåsberget and be rewarded with a magnificent view over the Hälsingland landscape, stroll down to the still tarn, head out on forest paths on foot or by bike and fill your basket with blueberries, lingonberries, mushrooms and other treasures of the forest. At the nature reserve by Svartsjön there is the opportunity for fantastic fishing with stocked noble fish such as Arctic char and rainbow trout, which you can fish for with a fishing permit. Here you can also grill at the barbecue spot, enjoy a break in the wind shelter and gaze out over the gleaming water. On warm summer days a dip in Fuskåssjön, about 2 km away, awaits, or the fine beach at Ofärne with sun until late in the evening, about 7 km away.
