In 2012 the house was extended, and the new part offers a large, bright living room with impressive ceiling height and a beautiful rustic oak floor, an inviting place for both large dinners and socialising. Here you look out over the meadow and catch a glimpse of the sea between the trees. From the living room you step straight out onto the large terrace in the best southerly position, with sun from late morning to early evening. Here you can enjoy both your morning coffee and long summer evenings. Behind the house spreads a fine lawn, ideal for play, games and sunbathing. For family and guests there is a separate guest cottage of approx. 25 sqm with three bedrooms, all with room for double beds. Adjacent to the guest cottage there is an additional 15 sqm shed with one bedroom/guest room. There is plenty of space here for several generations to gather and create memories together. A practical tool shed is located behind the house for storage or as a workshop. The property also includes its own boat berth at the shared jetty as well as a practical and spacious boathouse, perfect for storing everything from life jackets to fishing rods. The island also has 2 fine sandy beaches in different directions. A wonderful sense of community prevails on the island, with traditions that live on year after year. Midsummer is celebrated together with the maypole, dancing and joy for young and old alike. The day after, the starting shot is fired for the annual "midsommarsregattan", a sailing race with proud traditions. During the summer, an annual tennis cup is also held at the nearby tennis court, gathering neighbours and friends in a wonderfully relaxed competitive spirit. All property owners are part of "Älgholmens vänner" and all own 1/14 of the island, which includes the common areas around the houses. A large part of Älgholmen offers paths through nature, rocks, mushroom-rich forests, swimming coves and a clubhouse. The location in the archipelago is fantastic; it is quick to get out to the scenic Villinge archipelago, just off Dalarö and Ornö. For services such as a grocery store and boat service, you can go to Dalarö or Kymmendö, which lies in the strait north of Ornö. Those who want more activity will find golf, tennis, padel and spa at the nearby Smådalarö Gård, an excellent place also for a lovely meal. To the south, Utö beckons with its rich offering and charm, well worth a visit, and if you travel further out you reach several of the archipelago's core islands.
